Chatham House to hold 28th Global Forum on Forest Governance on 8-9 November 2018
On Thursday 8th and Friday 9th November 2018, Chatham House headquarters in London will host the 28th Global Forum on Forest Governance.
The annual two-day event, previously known as the Illegal Logging Update & Stakeholder Consultation Meeting, will include sessions on conflict timber, the latest isotope technology to trace timber supply chains and updates on the Voluntary Partnership Agreements.
“Good forest governance is vital for the sustainable management of forests and to enable the legal timber trade,” said the organisers. “This event provides an opportunity for stakeholders from across the forest sector including from government, industry and civil society to network, share and discuss the latest developments from around the world in improving forest governance.”
Speakers include: Chantal Marijnissen, Head of Unit at DG International Cooperation and Development European Commission; Dr Ir. Rufi’ie, Director for Forest Product Processing and Marketing for Government of Indonesia and Liubov Poliakova, Head of International Cooperation, Science and Public Relation Division at State Forest Resources Agency of Ukraine.
