Introduction to Windows (CPD)

Wood windows are best for many homes

This module will provide you with an understanding of the many benefits of wood windows, whether through their durability, low-carbon performance, or long lasting nature.

By working through these modules you will learn about life cycle assessments, service life and whole life cost of timber, modified timber and aluminum-clad timber windows. Information covered includes the performance of timber windows in terms of their energy-efficiency, weather resistance, acoustics and security in relation to British Standards and Building Regulations; and how performance is affected by frame material and coatings. You will also find out about the different types and styles of windows, including heritage styles, and how to specify wood windows.

Once you have completed all sections of the module and successfully assessed your knowledge, you will be able to print your CPD certificate.
