Dezeen X Timber Trade Federation Talk
Dezeen X Timber Trade Federation Conversation
The Timber Trade Federation has teamed up with Dezeen for a virtual climate conversation, exploring the EU FLEGT Action Plan, the work of the TTF to raise awareness, environmental benefits of using timber and the Conversations about Climate Change Exhibition.
11th March 2021
The Timber Trade Federation’s CEO David Hopkins will join Dezeen editor-in-chief Marcus Fairs for a virtual talk on various important climate conversations (#ClimateConversations).
Exploring the European Union’s Forest Law Enforcement Governance and Trade (FLEGT) Action Plan to ensure the legal logging and trade of tropical timber, the conversation will also focus on the work of the Timber Trade Federation to raise awareness among stakeholders including architects and designers.
The talk explores the environmental benefits of using and specifying timber in architecture and design, as well as an insight into the recent Conversations about Climate Change exhibition organised by the Timber Trade Federation at the London’s Building Centre in collaboration with the Building Centre. This exhibition showcases the work of six architects and designers using tropical timber from VPA FLEGT countries and raises various climate conversations as a platform for encouraging positive change and mitigation methods.
