Health and safety ‘first-response’ service launched

Specialised health and safety enquiry services covering timber merchanting and wood products manufacturing is now available to TTF Members seeking ‘first-response’ advice or guidance.

Advice and guidance can be provided via telephone or e-mail. Where the question raises complex issues which may need further investigation a plan will be worked out with the TTF member.

Industry-wide issues may be taken up on a national basis through the Wood Safety Group, which is attended and supported by the Health and Safety Executive.

A request for ‘First-Response’ service can be raised via the TTF office; and if further work is required, TTF members can take advantage of a discounted rates for consultancy services from the provider.

Mark Stevens, a NEBOSH qualified safety practitioner, is the principal consultant.

Using his substantial occupational experience in timber processing, extraction, noise, plant equipment and woodworking machinery, a response either on the same or next working day.

All enquiries are dealt with in confidence and no personal or specific business information is provided to a third party without their written consent.
