LSC luncheon and Club’s AGM to take place on 22 March 2018

On Thursday 22nd March 2018, the London Softwood Club (LSC) will hold its luncheon meeting and Club’s AGM at the The Amba Hotel, The Strand, London WC2N 5HX.

The keynote speaker of the day will be Olle Berg, Head of Marketing and Business Development within Setra Group.

Olle will give an overview of the current position, explaining where timber goes and what markets are increasing, staying the same or reducing. Recent developments in the softwood sawmilling industry in Northern Europe and the Baltics. Mergers, acquisitions – the big getting bigger. Chinese looking for investment opportunities. Exploring the markets in the developing countries and the Far East along with its importance to Swedish producers.

Olle has over 27 years’ experience in the timber industry. Before joining Setra, Olle had a long and successful career at Stora Enso where he was responsible for various areas of their business.

During Olle’s early days in the timber industry, he held positions in production, distribution and sales gaining a broad experience in the full chain of the Timber Industry.

Having spent most of his career in the global arena, Olle understands and has a great deal of knowledge of timber markets worldwide from both a supply and demand perspective.
