TTF recently took part in a supply management webinar which aimed to provide both clarity and solutions to the ongoing issues in the timber market.

TTF’s Head of Technical and Trade Policy, Nick Boulton, recently took part in a webinar on how procurement can mitigate spiraling Cost of Goods Sold (COGS).

Amidst the high-profile strain between supply and demand in the timber market, Nick was asked to attend to discuss how this was affecting procurement, and how spiraling prices could be better navigated.

Across the webinar, which had more than 500 attendees, the panelists worked to provide insight about the current global situation, and why after a long period of stability in raw material cost prices we are now seeing rapidly increasing prices and great volatility.

Panelists concluded that we are entering a period where a wider portfolio of solutions must be employed by CPOs (Chief Purchasing Officers) to pre-empt supply issues.

The webinar will help TTF members understand some of the issues that their customers continue to face in terms of trying to control their COGS while maintaining a consistent selling price.
