Treated Wood

The production and sale of preservative pre-treated wood is important to the UK timber supply chain as a whole, from importer/ sawmill right through to the ultimate end user. Some 60 replies were received from across the entire UK supply chain, meaning that the survey represented the most significant piece of research carried out in the treated wood sector for many years.

TTF members can access WPA specialist services such as regulatory affairs, an important area as the country navigates through the Brexit process, also technical support and access to the WPA Benchmark quality assurance scheme at privileged partner rates.

TTF Preservative Treatment Working Group

We have launched a Working Group on timber cladding to help bring clarity, guidance and promotion to the timber cladding market.

This initiative also involves input from TTF members, WPA and TDCA to ensure consistency across our various organisations and across the supply chain.

TTF Fire Safety & FR-Rated Timber CPD Course

Fire in buildings has always been a safety critical issue. The way buildings are designed and used and the materials specified and built into the structure can save lives or put them at serious risk.

Following the Grenfell tragedy, compliance with fire safety requirements has come under the microscope more than ever before. The Hackitt Review has identified shortcomings in the product knowledge and understanding of the technical issues surrounding fire safety and material specification throughout the supply chain. This includes poor specification and a lack of effective enforcement of those specifications.
