TTF Due Diligence System Presented at Washington Forest Legality Week
From 17 to 19 October 2017, TTF Head of Policy and Sustainability Mike Worrell attended the international “Forest Legality Week” in Washington, US.
The Washington Forest Legality Week – organised by the Forest Legality Initiative in collaboration with the U.S. Forest Service – was designed to enable dialogue and inspire action and partnerships to more effectively implement and monitor timber trade legality and due diligence measures.
At the event, Mr Worrell presented the TTF Responsible Purchasing Policy (RPP) underlining its results in helping TTF member companies assure responsible sourcing and timber legality.
There was also room for a focus on the latest developments of TTF work in China to promote products quality standards and legal timber trade.
The Forest Legality Initiative is a multi-stakeholder project led by the World Resources Institute aiming to reduce illegal logging through supporting the supply of legal forest products.
