TTF Monthly Stats October 2018 – Focus on: Construction Output – Signs of Recovery

The Timber Trade Federation has issued its October 2018 Monthly Statistical Bulletin including a Focus on: Construction Output – Signs of Recovery.

Import volume in the first seven months of 2018 was lower than in the same period in 2017 by around 334,000 m3.

Import volumes have been higher than in 2017 in two of the last three months. This growth has been driven, over the last three months by increased volumes of hardwood plywood and particleboards.

Although output was weather affected, falling by around 6% in Q1 2018, the number of housing starts in England was still higher than in any Q1 since 2007, except for the recent record year of 2017.
