TTF sponsors Alliance for Sustainable Building Products Awards 2020
“Sustainable timber at the heart of good design.”
Entries for this autumn’s RIBA’s Stirling Prize have underlined architects’ determination to mainstream sustainable design principles, from materials choice through to the whole life environmental impacts of buildings.
Adding further impetus to this climate-commendable trend, we have added our sponsorship weight to the Alliance for Sustainable Building Products’ 2020 Awards scheme. The Awards recognise construction projects which exemplify excellence in sustainability through their products, design and delivery. This will be the second ASBP Awards, held in conjunction with the Alliance’s annual Healthy Buildings Conference in London at the end of February 2020.
We regard the use of sustainable building products to be of paramount importance in the battle against catastrophic climate change.
“Sustainable timber is at the heart of good design,” says TTF Managing Director David Hopkins. “The TTF and its members concentrate on providing quality ‘Timber you can Trust’ so that specifiers can make the most of timber’s good climate change credentials in their projects. Wood was at the centre of many of the entries for the inaugural ASBP awards last year: we look forward to witnessing yet more creative and innovative design and detailing in the 2020 ASBP Awards.”
We are also highlighting the potential of timber and wood products through our #TimberWorks series of architectural case studies, available here.
