UK SOFTWOOD CONFERENCE 2021

THE PREMIER EVENT FOR THE TIMBER INDUSTRY IS BACK!

This year we will have speakers from across Europe bringing you the latest market update from Latvia, Finland, Scotland, and Ireland. They will discuss how Brexit is affecting trade, the impact of the pandemic on their market and how they see the rest of 2021 shaping.

Olle Berg, EVP Market and Business Development, Setra, will present a global overview of the sector, assessing how global economic influences are affecting rising demand, the challenges markets are facing as a result of lockdowns across the world and if the market will return to normal later in the year.

Nick Moore, Managing Director of TimberTrends, will explore how the UK softwood sector spearheaded a timber import resurgence in 2020, rising 3% above 2019 levels and if the booming demand from last year will continue throughout 2021.

Noble Francis, Economics Director of Construction Products Association (CPA), will discuss how the pandemic and Brexit have affected the housing and construction market, what the recent Budget announcement means for housing, and provide an economic forecast for the rest of the year.

ATTENDEES TO THE EVENT WILL LEARN:

  • The impact of Covid-19 on the softwood market.
  • Market updates from Scandinavia, Central Europe, the Baltics, the US, and the UK.
