UK Timber Regulations Workshops
If we leave the EU without a deal on 31st October 2019, then the UK will become a “third country”. This means that full due diligence will need to be conducted on European imports of timber just as it is on non-EU imports. The status of companies importing from Europe will change from ‘trader’ to ‘operator’.
The Office for Product Safety & Standards is delivering a series of workshops to prepare companies in case of this eventuality.
These workshops will be targeted at businesses who import timber products from the European Union, who are not currently required to undertake due diligence, but who following EU Exit may be required to comply with these regulations.
Below is a list of workshop dates and locations, you will see that more are planned, but venues and dates are yet to be confirmed.
