Women of Pasquill: Celebrating female success in the Timber industry
Pasquill, one of the largest manufacturer and supplier of Roof Trusses in the UK, is highlighting the opportunities available to women in the industry and demonstrating the growth potential for those looking to succeed in a career in timber.
To put a spotlight on the achievements gained by the women of Pasquill, Pasqiull interviewed employees from a selection of different departments, including marketing, design, site operations and sales.

Heather Krzoska, National Sales Manager
“I started at Pasquill nine years ago as a Trainee Designer. I had realised very quickly that Pasquill wanted to support my career development, and I have progressed from Trainee Designer to Design Office Manager and to my current role as National Sales Manager.
“As National Sales Manager I manage our external team, consisting of Area Technical and Sales Managers, and Business Development Managers. We provide customer support with selling, measuring and installing our products.
“My progression has been a prime example of the support and training opportunities provided from both Pasquill and my Line Managers. I feel very privileged to be a part of a business that values employee development and encourages my career aspirations.
“Pasquill has a very inclusive culture, I feel I am an accurate representation of this. For young women who are looking to enter the timber and construction industry, go for it! Don’t let outdated views distract you, it is an industry woman can thrive in.”

“My Pasquill career started in 2014 as a Trainee Designer while I was completing an evening college course. My progression was supported by my Sales Director, I’d never thought of being in a management role until I was given that confidence boost that I should apply.
“I’ve never experienced gender bias, it is a very inclusive culture. It is fantastic to be valued for the quality of your work, and you are always supported to improve with training and a development structure.”

“My role involves a variety of marketing activities to promote and grow the business. This ranges from digital and social media, to PR and design. Through Pasquill I recently completed my CIM Level 4 which has proved a valuable asset to me progressing in marketing.
“A large proportion of my role includes liaising with other departments to find out different news around the business. I haven’t encountered any issues as we are a very inclusive culture, everyone is supportive of one another.
“It should be known that this industry isn’t male specific, and women can bring diversity to the role and thrive. Pasquill is a fantastic place of opportunity for women and the scepticism about the industry will quickly disappear for anyone who enters a role.”
Emma Chesney, Site Operations Manager
“My responsibilities of Site Operations Manager involve day to day running of the factory, recruitment, personnel, to training and scheduling. Since starting in 2016 I have been promoted twice from my original Scheduler position.
“I recently graduated from Birmingham City University, with a post graduate diploma in multiple leadership and strategy. My HR manager, Jannette Walker, advised me to do this and I’m very thankful for her words of encouragement and Pasquill’s policy on training all employees at all levels regardless of gender.
“My previous area of expertise lay within RAF and oil and gas, however Pasquill have had the unique ability to develop talent and promote within, leading me to become the first Production and Operations Manager in the company, and aided towards gaining academic success which I never dreamt I could have achieved.”
